Clients & Projects - 7 - Drainage ditch diversion, Lydd Quarry, Kent.
| Since 2002, Pisces Conservation have been advising on the diversion and creation of new drainage ditches, and associated habitat creation, at Lydd Quarry, Kent. Pisces have advised on preservation of existing flora and fauna, and tailoring newly-created habitats to maximise their ecological value and replace lost habitat. | ||
| Ecological surveys of a range of aquatic and marginal flora and fauna have been carried out, to assess the status of existing habitats, optimise working practice for channel diversion and new habitat creation, and recommend strategies for ecologically-sound long-term management. At all stages, work has been coordinated with statutory bodies such as the Environment Agency. |
